We are pleased to announce that our team is finally able to start in depth testing on our car throughout the fall 2023 semester. We want to express our gratitude to Labjack’s incredible donation of their T7-PRO data acquisition system (DAQ). Their sponsorship enables our team to finally validate our simulations and take our program to the next level.
Their system seamlessly connects with our ECU as well as any other sensors we have, allowing us to understand our car on a level we never thought possible. Our students have not had the time or resources yet to finish developing our own DAQ, so Labjack’s support here enables us to begin data analysis on the car much sooner than we would be able to on our own. The time saved here is invaluable as we will be able to start testing and simulation validation before competition in May, helping in both the design presentation and on track events.
Their integrated python library allows our team to quickly write a few lines of code to add an entirely new DAQ into our vehicle without any issues. We believe this will give us the opportunity to teach and prepare new members on collecting and analyzing real world data. This will not only prove imperative in validating our designs, but will also prepare our members for the industry. Additionally, Labjack’s support allows our team to better incorporate a larger software sub team giving more opportunities to non-engineering majors by teaching them relevant skills in the workforce.
